Jamshedpur: On the spot painting competition for children was organized during the closing ceremony of wildlife week celebrations 2017 at the Tata Steel Zoological Park on Sunday, October 8.
More than 415 participants from 30 schools participated. Over all during the week long celebrations a total 1147participants from 40 schools were part of different events.
Ashish Mathur, Managing Director, JUSCO was the chief guest of the closing ceremony and Rishad M. Chinoy was guest of Honour of the ceremony.
Present during the on the spot painting Competition from Tata Steel Zoological Park were Dr. M. Palit Ė Dy. Director, S.K. Mahato Ė Curator, Zoo Staff Monalisha Banerjee, Pratap Singh Gill, Shefali Das, Ali Akhtar Khan, Sunil Kar, Dilip Dey, T. Ram. Manoj Nag and Zoo Volunteers Iram Khanam and Rahul.
Wildlife Week celebrations 2017 is being coordinated by Dr. Seema Rani, Biologist cum Education Officer, Tata Steel Zoological Park.
The contest was held in different categories in the primary section (Nursery Ė Std 1) the topic given was ‘An Animal /Plant’. First prize was awarded to Sukriti Paul of KPS Gamharia followed by Sambhav of Tagore Academy and Harsh Vardhan of St Maryís English High School. Rajveer Choudhrey of St Maryís English High School won the consolation prize.
In the Junior Category-(Std II-V) Topic given to students were ‘A Green Forest’. Shubham Kumari Rai of AIWC Academy Of Excellence was awarded the first prize, second prize went to Shivam Kumar Jena of Jamshedpur School Of Art, Prachi of Tagore Academy bagged the third prize while consolation prize went to Joydeep Biswas of Valley view School.
In the Middle category- (Std VI-VIII) students got the topic ‘A Visit To Wild Life Sanctuary’. Baivhav Kumar of Jusco School South Park was first, Divya Pal of KPS gamharia was second while Aditi Maity of Sant Nandlal Smriti Vidya Mandir was awarded the third prize. Prem Kumar Das of KPS Gamharia got the consolation prize.
In the senior category- (Std VI-VIII) Topic given was ‘Habitat Distraction / Global Warming’.
In the category- Shruti Paul of KPS , Gamharia was awarded the first prize followed by Amarpal Singh of St. Maryís English High School and Abhishek Barva of NTTF. Consolation Prize was awarded to Triswa Mukherjee of St. Maryís English High School.
Judges for the event were Krishna Sharan Mahato, P. N. Gupta, Jashpal Singh and Volunteers- Kirti , lovely Jena, Amit, Nekhil from Jamshedpur School of Art
