Jamshedpur: Zonal IG Naveen Kumar Singh has directed city police to make advance security preparations for Eid. He asked the police officials of city police stations to pull their socks to ensure peace during the festival.
Meanwhile, the IG took several police officials to task for failing to arrest culprits of the Mango violence incident despite passage of one month. He said the police should initiate action against the culprits of Nagadih lynching incident who are absconding since the day of incident.
During the meeting, the IG reviewed the law and order situation in the city. He talked to the officers in-charge of Nagadih and Parsudih police stations and guided them on carrying out attachment of property belonging to the culprits.
Also present on the occasion, DIG of Kolhan Saket Kumar Singh said no slackness would be tolerated on part of the city police anymore. He said the police should keep a close eye on all suspicious activities and developments in areas earmarked as sensitive after recent incidents of lynching in Bagbera and violence in Mango.
Addressing the officers in-charge of different police stations, the IG said the venues of prayer during Eid should be secured under three layers of protection. Paramilitary jawans and police officers would be deployed in such areas with protective gear for the body.
An additional force of 300 cops would be sent to various sensitive areas, he said, adding that videography would be carried out at religious places. Police jawans on duty would be in touch with the police control room.
