Jamshedpur: City police, in collaboration with its various partners, today unveiled the logo of Parivartan, a traffic movement to transformer people’s mindset, at District Control Room, Sakchi.
The proposed campaign will be formally inaugurated on 11th September. It will involve various stakeholders including the people, local companies, various socio-cultural organizations, schools and colleges, SAFE Clubs and transport unions.
The DIG of Kolhan Mohammad Nehaluddin and SSP Amol Venukant Homkar jointly unveiled the logo of the campaign. They said it was going to be a people’s movement as it aimed at changing the very mindset of the people instead of changing the traffic system.
“It is an ambitious and well-planned campaign. This would definitely help check frequent and fatal road accidents and turn city roads safer. The main objective is to ensure that people discharge their duty well on road by driving safely and by following and appreciating traffic norms. If this is done, I am sure this campaign will be a grand success,” said the senior cop.
Tata Steel, Jusco, Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry, peace committees and various city schools and colleges will be participating in the campaign along with the various media houses.
The SSP, accompanied by Daryl Pareira, coordinator of the campaign, said preparations were in the last leg and the campaign would greatly enhance traffic awareness level in the city.
