Jamshedpur: Members of Bharatiya Janata Party Mahila Morcha felicitated Divya Jyoti Gopal, a standard XII student of ADL Sunshine School at Sakchi, on Thursday for representing India on the occasion of International Yoga Day celebrated in China.
She was felicitated earlier with Yoga Jyoti Samman last year. She is the daughter of Keshav Chandra Gopal, a driver by profession, and Madhumita Gopal.
Praising the young girl, district BJP president Dinesh Kumar said she had done the country proud by teaching yoga to a large number of people in China.
He said the girl had done a great service to the Indian culture and tradition.
Among those present on the occasion included Neeru Singh, Shriram Prasad, Tapas Karmakar, Mamata Kapoor, Seema Das, Sushila Singh, Kailashpati Mishra, Laxmi Murdha, Saraswati Sahu, Makta Namata, Ramdulari Devi and Shukla Haldhar.
