Jamshedpur: City-based social organization Banga Bandhu celebrated the 122nd birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose on Wednesday. The outfit members and a large number of people from different parts of the city paid a rich tribute to Netaji at a function organized at Netaji Subhash Milan Sangh, Haludbani, Parsudih.
After the event, a grand rally was taken out. A bike rally was also organized. The participants marched on foot from Sakchi bus stand to Aam Bagan, Sakchi, and garlanded Netaji�s statue. More than 700 people attended the rally.
The outfit vice president Manik Mallik and Aparna Guha said a petition would be given to the Deputy Commissioner of East Singhbhum to demand state holiday on 23rd January, supply of Bengali books and appointment of teachers in Bengali medium schools.
Among those who organized the rally included Tarit Bhowmick, Rajesh Rai, Shubhankar Chatterjee, Swapan Majumdar, Neeta Dutta, Subrata Barua, Madhuri Barua, Manasi Barua, Uttam Guha, Jayanto Dey and Debjit Sarkar.
