Jamshedpur, Jan 8: The Central India Regional Council (CIRC) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has planned a mega blood donation drive on January 14 simultaneously in seven states comprising 47 branches and 23 chapters constituting the 101 collection-donation areas. This includes Jamshedpur. The blood donation mega camp to be organized on January 14 will commence simultaneously at all places at 11 am and conclude at 4 pm. This was stated by CIRC president CA Devendra Kumar Somani at a press briefing organized on Thursday at the ICAI Jamshedpur chapter office auditorium.
Somani stated that that in all the seven states students, members and others will be urged to donate blood. “We have planned this mega blood donation drive in seven states in view of the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic conditions where discharging our social responsibilities becomes imperative. This blood donation drive will be inaugurated by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and along with him ICAI president Atul Kumar Gupta and ICAI vice president CA Nihar Ranjan Jambusaria. We have set a target of collecting 10 thousand units of blood at the camps,” averred CA Devendra Kumar Somani who is on a seven-state tour to propagate the mega blood collection campaign.
The CIRC president further informed that at all the 47 branches, 23 chapters spread across the seven states, more than 100 local parliamentarians, legislators and ministers will participate in this mega blood donation effort for 2021. He said, “CIRC had organized a similar campaign on July 1, 2014 and the result found its way in the Limca Book of World Records.”
ICAI Jamshedpur president CA Sanjay Goel was also present at the press briefing.
