Jamshedpur, July 17: Energy and water are intricately connected. Energy availability is the pillar for social and economic progress in a society. Water holds the key to development of energy infrastructures and remains fundamental throughout the lifecycle of energy infrastructure and resource development, from extraction of raw materials, purification, washing and treatment of raw materials to coolants in nuclear or thermal power plants to being a fuel for hydropower plants.
With high risks that the energy sector is now exposed to, the shift towards Renewable Energy and the importance of including water in its strategic plan is more essential than ever before. Thus conservation of water, increasing the requirement to capture, store, filter and reuse rainfall is becoming more and more important. Industrial rainwater harvesting isn’t just about the environment it is transition to an environment friendly growth paradigm necessitates the shift to a resource efficient economy. Therefore adoption & promotion of the smart alternatives that will lead to inclusive growth in India.
Against this backdrop, CII is organizing “Preserving Future: The smart alternative – Session on Rain Water Harvesting and Solar Energy” on 18 July at Adityapur Auto Cluster, Jamshedpur to work towards the holistic development in driving initiatives of interest to the Industry and society at large. The objective of the session is look for new trends in the field of Renewable Energy and Conservation and understanding the best practices Rainwater Harvesting. Nitin Madan Kulkarni, Secretary, Department of Energy Government of Jharkhand will be present during the session.
