Jamshedpur, June 7: Panchayat level workshops were held simultaneously in the various blocks of East Singhbhum under the �Chuppi Todo, Swasth Raho� campaign of state government. Women and girls were informed about menstruation and personal hygiene. Misconceptions regarding menstruation were also cleared by the speakers.
District officials said the workshop was held with the view to raise the general awareness level on menstruation among village women and girls. One of the aims of the workshop was also to promote personal hygiene and health among girls of age 10 to 19 years.
During the workshop, all participants were asked to educate other female members of their families and neighbourhood on menstruation and personal hygiene. The programme was attended by anganbari workers, members of Sakhi Mandal and self help groups.
The workshop was held in Karandih, Gudabandha, Asanbani, Dumaria, Chakulia, Shyamsunderpur, Baharagora and Ghatsila.
