Jamshedpur: The 54th annual Urs of Hazrat Badshah Abdur Rahim Rahman alias Chuna Shah Baba commenced at 8 am on Tuesday, May 9 at his Dargah in Bistupur with the reading of Fateha.
Followers of Chuna Shah Baba from West Bengal, Odisha, Bihar and Jharkhand including Jamshedpur started arriving at Baba’s Dargah since Monday to participate in the four day Urs celebration. His devotees belonging to other faiths also participate in this annual event and offer Chadar in prayers for the fulfillment of their wishes.
SM Qutubuddin, Secretary of the Dargah Committee, said that on Wednesday, May 10, Isha Takreer would be held after Namaaz during which Maulana Qutubuddin Rizvi of Ranchi, Jam-Jam Fatehpuri from Ramgarh and Maulana Ishaque Anjum and Kari Ibrar Aurangabadi will be present.
The schedule for Thursday, May 11 will include Chadar and Sandal Gast from 10 am, Chadar Poshi at 1.20 pm, Langar-e-Aam from 2 pm and Qawali from 9 pm with the main attraction being the participation of the famous Qawwals, Jani Warish Qawal Nawada and Shah Warsi Qawal Kolkata who will present their compositions. On Friday, May 12, the concluding day of Chuna Shah Baba’s 54th Urs observation, Langar-e-Aam will commence from 2 pm. nationally renowned Qawwals, Qawal Mehboob Taj from Kanpur and Shabbir Saif Ali Chishti of Varanasi will present Sufi Kalam at Mahfil-e- Shama from 9 pm.
