Jamshedpur, July 26: Meet Chirag Barjatya who believes sustainable fitness is the way to go. And wants to make ethical fitness a successful business. He is one of India’s brand ambassadors for PM Modi’s Fit India Movement and has bagged over 1,400 clients in less than two years. Let’s hear his story.

After working as a cinematographer for three years, Chirag found his true calling in the field of fitness. Staying in good shape was always his passion. It all started in 2015 when Chirag decided to randomly help his friends attain a healthy lifestyle. He soon noticed that his friends started getting good results on the nutritional diet that he suggested to them. And eventually, he decided to make fitness coaching a full-time career. Breaking the myths of fitness and bringing modern science into the concept for people to achieve their goals, is the mission of this 28-year-old wellness coach.

In the process, Chirag realized that social media can be a great tool to reach out to people, where his thoughts will amplify faster. In 2019, he took to Twitter and started interacting with people around various topics related to fitness. “I came across several myths surrounding fitness, which a lot of people were easily falling for. This further pushed to publish more and more content in the form of tweets and Instagram stories+videos. I wanted to clear their doubts and stand strong against those who were spreading these misconceptions. Slowly, a lot of people started directly connecting with me asking me to coach them. And I decided this is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. Coach people,” shares Chirag, who originally hails from Ajmer, Rajasthan, but now calls Pune his home. While his parents have helped him shape his life to a large extent, one of Chirag’s greatest inspirations is Gary Vaynerchuk, a Belarusian-American entrepreneur, author, speaker, and Internet personality. His mission is to make more and more people aware of modern science for their fitness goals.

WithTeamChirag, he aims to make a mark as an ethical fitness coaching company. In a very short span of time, they have acquired over 1400 clients. TeamChirag is operational both online and offline with their laptops and phones at the client service all time. They have a vision of sponsoring at least 10 Olympic athletes representing India and spreading awareness about how fitness can be a lifestyle rather than a short-term goal. Chirag is also planning to seek funding when they start the expansion on the scale.
