Jamshedpur, September 19: Producer Chinmayee Gangopadhyay will produce a Hindi feature film, ‘Mystery but True’ to be shot in and around Jamshedpur with the entire caste and technical crew from the city. Director Raja Gangopadhyay who has written the script will also act in the lead role with Puja Singh performing as his leading lady. Other artistes who will be portraying major character roles in this romantic thriller are veteran stage and celluloid actor Goutam Shankar Das, Anita Singh, Md Shamim ‘Ulfat,’ Raju Mitra, Kiran Mishra and others. It may be mentioned that the leading lady in this celluloid venture, Puja Singh is a known face who has been performing in several popular Bollywood sitcoms.
Raja and Chinmayee Gangopadhyay observed at a press meet on Sunday, September 19, “Jharkhand is not only rich in natural and mineral resources but also with a unique traditional and cultural heritage. To add to the gifts of Jharkhand is the unbounded performing talents who have not found a platform to expose themselves. Production teams from Mumbai and other places have come here to exploit the exquisite locales and used local actors in bit and forgettable roles. We want to break the shackles and let the Jharkhand talents leave their mark on the celluloid format.”
Director Raja Gangopadhyay who has spent the better part of 15 years making films and serials in Tollywood (Kolkata) seemed a wee bit emotional when he said, “When I talk of Jharkhand people tend to ask, ‘You mean Bihar’s Jharkhand?’ I feel emotionally hurt and I have to tell them, ‘No, my state is the Beautiful Jharkhand with Beautiful people who carry a rich tradition of their own.’ My main intent of making this experimental but powerful movie is to break that voodoo of nonentity and prove to the world the potent powerhouse of actors and technicians cradled lovingly in the lap of beautiful Jharkhand.”
‘Mystery but True’ is a 120 minute engrossing romantic thriller to be shot in Jamshedpur and in other parts of Jharkhand with a time schedule of a fortnight. Actor, producer and director, the redoubtable Raju Mitra, besides playing an important character in the movie, is also the production manager along with Smarika Mitra in this ambitious Chinmayee Production film. The technicians for this film include Pratyush Singh (cinematographer), Suresh (makeup artiste), Pushpendra (lights), and All India award winning music and sound effects director Dwipanjan ‘Bubai’ Roy is expected to cast his creative magic once again.
