Ranchi: Abhishek Prasad, also known as Pintu, the Media Advisor to Chief Minister Hemant Soren, has reached out to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) requesting a deferment of his scheduled questioning. In a message sent to the ED, he has sought additional time and proposed a meeting after January 22.
Abhishek Prasad alias Pintu failed to appear at the ED office on the designated date for questioning in connection with the illegal mining case. The ED had issued summons on January 6, directing him to appear for interrogation on January 16. The investigation pertains to the alleged irregularities in the realm of illegal mining, with raids conducted at 12 locations across 4 states on January 3.
Notably, the ED had conducted searches at Abhishek Prasad’s residence during the raids. However, his non-compliance with the summons has added a layer of complexity to the ongoing investigation. The Media Advisor’s plea for a later date indicates a potential delay in the interrogation process.
In a similar vein, other individuals implicated in the case, including Grid Consultant’s architect Vinod Singh (questioned on January 15) and Sahibganj DC Ramniwas Yadav (summoned on January 11), did not present themselves before the ED as scheduled.
Adding to the unfolding drama, Jharkhand Cabinet Secretary Vandana Dadel has raised questions about the basis on which state government officers are being summoned by the ED. In a letter to the Enforcement Directorate, Dadel seeks clarification and information on the grounds for summoning officials associated with the state government for questioning in the illegal mining case. The developments surrounding the ED investigation continue to draw attention and raise eyebrows within political circles.
