Chhau Nritya marks Rohini festival in Seraikela

Seraikela, May 28 : Chhau dance was organized on Friday night in Baridih village of Rajnagar block on the auspicious occasion of Rohini. The Chhau dances were themed on folk and religious practices related to Shaivism and Vaishnavism. The performing Chhau artistes enthralled the audience with presentations of Mahishasur Vadh, Har Parvati, Krishna Leela and Abhimanyu Vadh. The Chhau team from Bodam trained by Ustad Trilochan Mahto and Chhau artistes of Moru Nimdih under the leadership of Ustad Budheshwar Mahto performed on the occasion. Sukra Mahto, Dhiren Mahto, Agnu Mahto, Nunuram Mahto, Kailash Mahto, Arun, Baldev, Radha, Sikra, Vasudev and others organized the Chhau dance event.
