Ranchi: Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that Seraikela Chhau Mahotsav would be organized on a bigger scale to make it a great event of national and international significance.
The CM held a meeting at Project Bhavan on the preparations of the upcoming Chaitra Chhau Festival at Seraikela. He said that Chhau Mahotsav should not be regarded as a festival of Seraikela only but steps ought to be taken to take it to international level.
The CM said that Chhau Mahotsav serves as a perfect platform for promotion of local arts, tradition and culture of the land. Along with Chhau other cultural events should also be organized during the Mahotsav.
He said that steps would be taken so that visitors and tourists face no difficulties to take part in the festival, he said. e for the tourists and arrangements of traditional cuisines be made for the visitors.
The Chief Minister expressed the view that cottages should be made near the venue with arrangement of traditional cuisines for the visitors.
Information booklets on popular tourist spots of Seraikela should be made available at the fair ground, he said. He also stressed on the fact that training workshops on making of Chhau masks and traditional artifacts be organized. The Mahotsav could help providing a market for traditional works of art, he said.
Raghubar Das said that a state-level committee be constituted to make the Mahotsav a grand success stating that department of tourism, arts and culture, Information and PRD must extend all possible cooperation for promotion of the Chhau Mahotsav.
Present were in the meeting among others including chief secretary Rajiv Gauba, chief secretary of CM, Sanjiv Kumar, development commissioner, RS Poddar, tourism secretary, Abinash Kumar, secretary of Information and PRD, MR Meena and others.
