Jamshedpur, May 17: Purana Sonari Vikas Samiti will organise Chhau dance competition at Mithila School Ground near Carmel Junior College in Sonari on May 20.
At the contest Adivasi Chhau dance group (Ustad Karthik Singh Munda) from Bagmundi in Purulia and Bamniya Surya Tarun Chhau dnace samiti (UstadPrabhudas Kumar) will present dance in various categories.
President of the samiti, Dhananjay Mahato said, the contest will be inaugurated at 9.30 pm by garlanding the portraits of Nirmal Mahato, former MP Sunil Mahato and former deputy chief minister of Jharkhand Sudhir Mahato and paying them rich tributes.
Chief Guest for the occasion will be Jamshedpur MP Vidhut Varan Mahato, other guests include former minister Banna Gupta, social workers Astik Mahato, JMM general secretary Mohan Karmakar, district secretary Laltu Mahato, social workers Bablu Mahato and others.
To make the Chhau dance competition successful a committee have been formed were Dhananjay Mahato along with general secretary Ashok Singh, secretary Akhileshwar Mahato, Diwakar Mahato, Dhanesh Karmakar, Uttam Mahato, Makhan Singh, Manoj Kumar Mahato, Karthik Mahato, Chitto Mandal and Dijen Mahato have been appointed.
