Chhau artists to make mukuts

Seraikela: UNESCO has planned to provide training to Chhau artists of Seraikela in making mukuts, the traditional crowns worn by kings used in Chhau performances.

Many other dance costume articles will be prepared by the trainees. The training is being provided through Sangit Natak Academy.

Members of Chhau Nritya Vichitra, the outfit of Chhau artists, will be getting the training and later training other youths of local villages so that they may make use of their skill in making traditional costumes and use and sell them later for various purposes.
