Jamshedpur, May 26: The Jharkhand government has reshuffled Deputy Commissioners of all three districts in the Kolhan division, East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, and Saraikela-Kharsawan, with immediate effect.

As per a notification issued on Monday by the Department of Personnel, Administrative Reforms, and Official Language, IAS officer Karna Satyarthi has been appointed the new Deputy Commissioner of East Singhbhum, Chandan Kumar will take charge of West Singhbhum, and Nitish Kumar Singh will be the Deputy Commissioner of Saraikela-Kharsawan.

The new appointments also designate each officer as the District Magistrate and Deputy Commissioner, and they have been authorized to exercise powers under Section 14 of the Indian Civil Security Code, 2023.

East Singhbhum: Karn Satyarthi’s new assignment

A 2016 batch IAS officer, Karna Satyarthi moves to East Singhbhum from Gumla, where he served as Deputy Commissioner. Known for his work in rural development, education, and tribal welfare, he was widely appreciated for his administrative skills. His new role in Jamshedpur, a key industrial hub, is expected to drive forward development in the mining and industrial sectors.

West Singhbhum: Chandan Kumar

Chandan Kumar, also a 2016 batch IAS officer, has been appointed Deputy Commissioner of West Singhbhum. Previously posted in Ramgarh, his transfer to Chaibasa is anticipated to accelerate development initiatives in tribal and mining areas.

Saraikela-Kharsawan: Nitish Kumar Singh

Nitish Kumar Singh, a 2017 batch IAS officer, has been appointed Deputy Commissioner of Saraikela-Kharsawan. He was earlier serving as Director of the Non-Agricultural Directorate in the Finance Department, along with holding additional charge of the Pension and Accounts Directorate. His administrative experience is expected to bring fresh momentum to governance in the district.

This administrative reshuffle signals a renewed push for governance and development across the Kolhan region.
