Chandan Chess Academy celebrates 55th birthday of Chess legend Viswanathan Anand in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Dec 11: The 55th birthday of five-time World Chess Champion and India’s first Grandmaster, Viswanathan Anand, was celebrated with great enthusiasm by Chandan Chess Academy (CCA) on Wednesday at a café in C.H Area.

The event brought together chess enthusiasts, students, and prominent guests to honor the legendary player’s achievements.

The celebration was graced by Chief Guest Purabi Ghosh, a social worker and Joint Secretary of East Singhbhum District Chess Academy (ESDCA), who cut the birthday cake. Guest of Honour included Akshay Agarwal, a social worker and Chandan Kumar Prasad, International Arbiter, Head Chess Coach of Chandan Chess Academy (CCA), and co-organizer of the event.

Several budding and accomplished chess players attended, including Saanvi Gandhi, Souryadipta Sarkar, Nikunj Agrawal, Monali Biswas, Kaavya Mandal, Purav Rushabh Gandhi, Atharv Adesara, Abhijeet Singh, Saket Singh, Nikkitasaha Sakhare, Anvi Agarwal, Aman Nagelia, Akash Nagelia, Lisa Sinha, Rian Rohal Gollapalli, Taranbir Singh Bhogal, Daivik Kumbhakar, Aditi Kashyap, Joel Sinha, Akshat Goyal and Manraj Singh Sadana, making the celebration a memorable occasion.

Chandan Kumar Prasad expressed his admiration for Anand, calling him a source of inspiration for chess players worldwide. “Celebrating the birthday of such a legendary figure is an honor. Grandmaster Viswanathan Anand has achieved unparalleled heights in chess, and his journey continues to inspire us all,” he said.

Reflecting on his personal experience, Prasad shared a cherished memory of meeting Anand in Jamshedpur on February 8, 2020, describing it as a “dream come true.” He wished Anand continued success and even greater achievements in the years to come.
