Chaibasa, August 22: Former Chief Minister Champai Soren arrived in Chaibasa on Thursday to a warm reception from supporters. His visit began with a homage to Lord Birsa Munda’s statue at Supalsai Chowk, where he pledged to start a new chapter in his political career. The welcome at Post Office Chowk featured traditional drumming and enthusiastic support from social worker Devi Shankar Dutt (Kaabu) and others.

In his address to the media, Champai Soren assured that he would neither dissolve the organization nor retire from politics. He emphasized his intent to rejuvenate his political journey, stating that Kolhan has historically been a stronghold of agitation and support for the movement for a separate Jharkhand state. He reaffirmed his commitment to addressing grievances and revealed plans to visit all 14 assembly seats in Kolhan to bolster emerging organizations.

During his tour, Soren also visited Kharsawan, where he paid respects at Shahid Bedi and honoured martyrs. He expressed his intention to visit the families of those affected by recent tragedies, including a Jharkhand Police Jawan who died in a road accident. Soren extended financial support to the bereaved family and committed to helping secure compensation and compassionate employment for the dependents.
The former Chief Minister’s visit was marked by widespread support, with warm receptions and public enthusiasm along his route, as he continues his journey to strengthen his political base in Kolhan and Jharkhand.
