Jamshedpur: The Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry today demanded a pantry car in Steel Superfast Express. The new LHB rake of the superfast train between two destinations- Tatanagar and Howrah- does not have a pantry car. The train had a pantry car before it got the state-of-the-art LHB coaches.
General Secretary of the trade outfit, Vijay Anand Moonka in a letter to the general manager of South Eastern Railway S N Agarwal on Tuesday demanded a pantry car. The LHB coaches include nine 2nd class chair car(Reserved), six 2nd class chair car (Unreserved), four AC chair cars , one AC first class, one AC three-tier and a power-cum- generator car.
The trade outfit also requested the general manager of SER not to discontinue the AC first class coach which can accommodate 18 passengers.
Railway sources at Garden Reach, headquarters of SER revealed that SER is planning with the idea of withdrawing the AC first class coach as it can accommodate only a handful ( 18 ) of passengers.
