Chamber of Commerce, Amalgam Steel and Young India Win Tata Steel Inter Corporate Sports Tournament

Jamshedpur, December 15: Tata Steel Sports Department concluded the First edition Inter Corporate Sports Tournament 2025, a landmark event that brought together 14 teams from diverse backgrounds and industries to promote inclusivity, fitness, camaraderie, and team bonding.

The tournament, which was held in two phases, saw participation from prominent organisations such as Tata Steel Tinplate Division, District Administration, Jamshedpur, District Police, Jamshedpur, Jharkhand Armed Police (JAP-6), Jamshedpur, Chamber of Commerce & Industries, Tata Steel Technical Services Limited, Bar Council of Jamshedpur, HDFC Bank Jamshedpur, TRF Limited, Amalgam Steel, Tata Steel Support Services Limited, Tata Cummins, Young India and TIMKEN.

The first phase of the tournament which was held on December 6-7,2025 featured a cricket tournament, where Chamber of Commerce & Industries, Jamshedpur, HDFC Bank Jamshedpur, and Tinplate Division emerged as winners.

The second phase of the tournament, which included badminton and relay events, was held on December 13-14, 2025, at the Badminton Training Centre and Athletics Tracks, JRD Tata Sports Complex. The events saw intense competition and sportsmanship, with teams displaying remarkable teamwork and dedication.

The guests for the prize distribution and closing ceremony were Retired DSP, Jamshedpur, Kamal Kishor, DSP Law & Order, Jamshedpur, Bhola Prasad, Head, R&R and SHM, West Bokaro, Tata Steel, Rohit Prasad, and Senior Geologist, NRD, Tata Steel, Ms. Pallavi.

The winners of the tournament were:

– Badminton: Amalgam Steel (Winner), TRF Limited (Runners-up), TSSSL (Third Place) in both Men & Women category

– Relay: Young India, Jamshedpur (Winner), Police Administration, Jamshedpur (Runners-up), Jharkhand Armed Police (JAP- 6)(Third Place).

– Cricket: Chamber of Commerce & Industries, Jamshedpur (Winner), HDFC Bank Jamshedpur (Runners-up), Tinplate Division (Third Place)

To ensure diversity and inclusivity, the tournament was designed to mandate women’s participation in all three events – Cricket, Badminton, and Relay. The criteria for participation were as follows: Each Cricket team was required to have two women participants, Badminton teams needed to have a women’s team, and Relay teams needed to have at least two female participants. This approach underscores Tata Steel’s commitment to promoting diversity and inclusivity across all aspects of the organisation, and ensured that the tournament was representative of a diverse range of participants.
