Jamshedpur : The Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) has, lodged a strong objection before the district administration opposing the move of the traffic department. A delegation of SCCI, led by its newly elected president Suresh Sonthalia on Monday met the deputy commissioner, Amitabh Kaushal to protest the step taken by the traffic police.

Sonthalia said that the deputy commissioner along with additional deputy collector (law and order) Ajit Shankar and additional deputy commissioner Ganesh Kumar gave a hearing to the SCCI’s objection.

“We have received a positive response. The deputy commissioner has aksed sub-divisional officer, Dhalbhum Prem Ranjan to visit the place on the Bistupur Main Road and submit a report on whether it is convenient for the people to block the two\ intersection on the Bistupur Main Road,” said the SCCI president.

The SCCI president, however, that if the traffic police want to streamline the traffic movement then it may close only one intersection near Ram Mandir.
In a bid to streamline traffic movement in Bistupur, the district traffic police have closed two intersections on Bistupur Main Road forcing people to take extra journey to move.

The commuters who used to take a turn from the Bistupur area area through the intersection located either in front of the Hero Honda Showroom or Ram Mandir are now been forced to take a U-turn from round about near the Voltas Building instead.
