Chaibasa municipal councillor face axe for hiding fact in election affidavit

Chaibasa, December 22:  Membership of ward councillor of ward number 5 of Chaibasa Municipal Council, Viplav Kumar has been terminated for giving wrong information during the affidavit in the council election. 
In the letter issued by the department of urban development department it has been said that the complainant Sudhir Sarkar and others had given a complaint letter to the District Election Officer cum Deputy Commissioner on May 17, 2018, that Viplav Kumar Ward Councilor Ward No. 5, Municipal Council Chaibasa gave wrong information to the Election Department.

Viplav Kumar’s third child was born on 15 September 2015 which was hidden during filing of his affidavit and has been disqualified candidate under the Jharkhand Municipal Act. After investigation by the secretary of the State Election Commission after the reason were also asked from the ward councilor. 

Municipal Council Act states that if a councilor has a third child after 2013, they will be considered unfit to contest elections. After investigation, it was found that according to the information received from Block Development Officer Chaibasa from Tata Main Hospital Jamshedpur, the third child alive has been given birth by Majri Singh, wife of Viplav Kumar. 
In this regard, Viplav Kumar said that he does not have complete information about it. 
“No letter has been received from the department. Appropriate reply and action will be taken on receipt of the letter,” said Viplav.
