Jamshedpur, Jan 7: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday warned the JMM led Jharkhand government that it must check ‘infiltrators’, who are conspiring to grab land in Jharkhand, by marrying tribal women.

“I have come here to warn the government of Jharkhand. Infiltrators are forcibly marrying tribal girls. After that, their land is being snatched. I have come today to warn that this must be stopped otherwise the people of Jharkhand will not forgive you,” he reiterated.

Shah was addressing BJP’s Vijay Sankalp Maharally organised at Tata College Ground in Chaibasa. He said that an attempt is being made to change the demography of tribals and we condemn it.

With an eye on Lok Sabha elections 2024, Shah addressed JMM’s stronghold area and termed the Hemant Soren led State Government as ‘anti-tribal’.

He lamented that when the BJP Government was in power several development initiatives were undertaken but the present government led by Hemant Soren has destroyed the state.

“The CM (Hemant Soren) of the state may be a tribal but this government is anti-tribal. Under his rule corruption is at peak. The middlemen are minting money and tribal youth have been denied jobs.  Children are being deceived in the name of education and the tribals in the name of welfare schemes,” he said.

He went on to add that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have increased their budget for tribal welfare to Rs 86 thousand crores. They have also provided drinking water to at least 1 crore tribals, who were deceived by the government in the name of food, employment, and education.

The Home Minister also mentioned the Eklavya Residential Schools. He said that the Congress government had left 167 tribal Eklavya residential schools. Today the Modi government has increased it to 680. This shows BJP’s commitment to tribal welfare. He said that on November 15, the birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda is being celebrated as Tribal Pride Day. As long as our democracy exists, Bhagwan Birsa Munda should be treated as a tribal brother and sister. Rather, the whole country will remember him with respect.

Amit Shah also enumerated the achievements of the Modi government at the rally in Chaibasa. He said that the Narendra Modi government has given the benefit of crop insurance scheme to 44 lakh people. Free gas cylinders to 33 lakh people under the Ujjwala scheme. A total of 27 lakh farmers got the benefit of PM Kisan Yojana, whereas under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, the Modi government has given 40 lakh benefits.

Amit Shah said that when the BJP government with full majority was formed in Jharkhand, it provided many airports and medical facilities to the state. He said that the construction of AIIMS has started in Deoghar. In Deoghar, Jamshedpur, Dumka and Bokaro, the construction of the airports have been allotted. Along with this, an airport is also being built in Dhalbhumgarh near Tatanagar.

Warning the CM, the Home Minister noted: ‘The people of Jharkhand have woken up and won’t tolerate the injustice now. The people of Jharkhand will change the “inefficient and corrupt government”.

Party workers from the three districts of the Kolhan division — East Singhbhum, Seraikela-Kharsawan and host West Singhbhum — participated in the programme in large numbers.

According to party sources, the party high command wants to bounce back in Kolhan. In the 2019 parliament polls, the BJP candidate Laxman Gilua, who was then a sitting MP and state party president, lost to JMM and RJD supported Congress candidate Geeta Koda. The UPA candidate polled 4,31,815 votes and the BJP candidate polled 3,59,660. Further, six assembly seats make up the Singhbhum parliament constituency. The assembly seats include five in the West Singhbhum and the Seraikela assembly seat in adjoining SeraikelaKharsawan district.
