Chaibasa, March 11: West Singhbhum district administration is gearing up to crack down on hooligans during Holi. Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal and Superintendent of Police Ajay Linda called a joint meeting here on Friday to chalk out plans to keep the law and order situation in the district intact during the festive season. All sub divisional officers, sub divisional police officers, DSPs, block development officers and circle officers were present during the meeting.
The DC directed the administration and police officials to keep an eye on people, especially youths, driving in inebriated condition.
The SP said sale of illicit liquor should also be stopped at every cost. Surprise raids should be conducted to curb the sale of illicit liquor, he said.
Linda said several police check-posts should be set up across the district to keep a watch on criminals and hooligans. He said efforts should be made to stop road accidents.
The DC directed all officials concerned to organize peace committee meetings in their respective areas. He said COVID guidelines should be followed along with social distancing norms. He said CCTV cameras should be kept in good condition and new cameras should be installed wherever needed. He appealed to one and all to celebrate Holi with peace and brotherhood.
