Jamshedpur, March 7: Central Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee, Jamshedpur, will be bearing the marriage expenses of needy girls of the Sikh community. This was announced here on Monday by Gurmukh Singh Mukhe, head of CGPC.

“Poor girls would be given Rs 5100 each on behalf of CGPC. If the families of such girls perform their marriages at the Gurudwara, the CGPC will bear the expenses of 100 guests including their snacks, meals and other marriage programmes,” said Mukhe.

Mukhe further said that the new couples would also be given utensils and other household items by the CGPC provided they apply a month in advance.

The CGPC leader said the CGPC had helped all needy and under-privileged people. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the CGPC sent ration to needy people, he said.

Addressing a press conference, Mukhe said there were certain shortcomings in the running of various Gurudwara management committees across the city. He said the poor members of the community should be helped promptly in order to win their trust and maintain their faith.

The CGPC leader further said that pending elections of various Gurudwara committees would be conducted soon. A five member team of observers would be formed to conduct the elections, he said.
