Centre serious on Jamshedpur Airport

SCCI delegation meets aviation minister, LS speaker

Jamshedpur, April 22: The delegation of Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industries (SCCI) met Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and invited them to attend the Platinum Jubilee programme.

The delegation also met Union commerce and industry minister Piyush Goyal and demanded establishment of big industries in Kolhan.

Meeting the Lok Sabha speaker at the Parliament House they handed over an invitation to attend the upcoming Platinum Jubilee function to be organized by the Chamber, which was gladly accepted by the Speaker of the Lok Sabha.  Union tribal welfare minister, Arjun Munda was also present.

Chamber president Vijay Anand Moonka said that it was a courtesy meeting in which the delegation briefed the Lok Sabha Speaker about the Singhbhum Chamber and briefly presented its glorious history of 75 years. After hearing this, the speaker praised the chamber and accepted the invitation with pleasure.

Later, the chamber delegation along with Arjun Munda went to Vanijya Bhavan in Delhi and met Piyush Goyal, regarding establishment of big industries in Kolhan, establishment of automobile companies and discussions related to industry.

The Union Minister listened carefully to the whole thing and assured to take appropriate initiative on it.

Due to Civil Aviation Minister Jyoti Raj Scindia being affected by Covid, the chamber delegation met the Minister’s personal  secretary Abhinav Pratap Singh at the Aviation ministry.

The personal secretary told the delegation that the central government is serious about the airport in Jamshedpur, but the state government will have to take initiative.
