Jamshedpur, Mar 22: The Central Ram Navami Akhara Committee, Jamshedpur, held a crucial meeting on Friday at the Utkal Association auditorium in Sakchi to ensure the grand success of the upcoming Ram Navami festival. The meeting, chaired by Committee President Ashutosh Singh, saw the participation of 153 licensed and 13 unlicensed Akhara committees. It was unanimously decided that the festival would be celebrated with grandeur, dignity and in strict adherence to Sanatan traditions.

The meeting emphasized that various Akharas would take out processions across the city, reflecting the rich heritage of Sanatan culture. All Akhara committees were instructed to prepare a detailed action plan to ensure that the processions remain peaceful, disciplined and well-organized. The committee also confirmed that the procession and immersion of the Akharas would conclude on April 7, 2025, with security and order maintained in coordination with the administration.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Patron Chandragupta Singh stated, “Ram Navami is not just a festival, but an opportunity to imbibe the values of Sanatan Dharma and the ideals of Lord Shri Ram in our lives. This celebration must be marked with dignity, discipline and devotion.”

Several Akhara committees also raised concerns regarding challenges faced during preparations. The Narayan Akhara (Mango) highlighted traffic congestion on Dimna Road, while Suraj Akhara (Sonari) objected to illegal encroachments on their procession route. The Tinplate Akhara Committee strongly opposed the placement of a dustbin near the flag worship site, calling it inappropriate and disrespectful. Additionally, Abhishek Singh from Kali Mandir Akhara (Baghbeda Baroda Ghat) emphasized the need for cleanliness along the river. The Central Akhara Committee assured that these issues would be escalated to the administration for prompt resolution.

Patron Neeraj Singh expressed confidence that this year’s Ram Navami festival would be historic, with an extraordinary confluence of faith, devotion and discipline. Similarly, Patron Shankar Reddy declared, “During the festival, Jamshedpur will become a center of religion, faith and power, as the grand processions showcase Sanatan traditions and the ideals of Shri Ram.”

Committee President Ashutosh Singh reassured that continuous discussions were underway with administrative officials to ensure smooth execution of the event. Necessary improvements will be implemented based on the suggestions received from all Akharas.

The meeting concluded with a resolution to uphold the festival’s dignity and discipline, proclaimed with chants of “Jai Shri Ram.” The event was conducted by General Secretary Bhupendra Singh and a vote of thanks was extended by Treasurer Shambhu Mukhi. The participating Akhara members were honoured  with angavastra and floral tributes.

The meeting witnessed the presence of hundreds of committee members, including Chief Patron Chandragupta Singh, Patrons Shambhu Singh, Neeraj Singh, Bhishma Singh, Diwakar Singh, Shankar Reddy and representatives from various Akharas across the city.
