Jamshedpur, Aug 22: The Golmuri Durga Puja Committee today performed the bhoomi pujan (groundbreaking ceremony) for its grand Durga Puja pandal at Circus Maidan, Golmuri. The ritual was conducted with Vedic chants under the guidance of priest Rakesh Pandey. Former BJP district president Dinesh Kumar, social worker Shiv Shankar Singh, and Committee President Manoj Khatri were present as chief hosts. “This year marks the 100th year of our Durga Puja celebrations. The pandal will be inaugurated on Mahalaya, and devotees will have access throughout the ten days,” said Manoj Khatri. He added that the Golmuri pandal is known for its unique and thematic designs. In past years, themes such as Facebook, Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s legacy, and the Corona era have drawn wide attention.
The event was attended by several community members including Pappu Upadhyay, Probir Chatterjee Rana, Kamal Agarwal, Sunit Agarwal, Amish Agarwal, and others.
