CBSE class 10: With 98.8 %, DAV Bistupur girl Jasmine tops Jamshedpur, wants to be a surgeon

Jamshedpur, May 29: Jasmine Saha of DAV Public School Bistupur, is over the moon with her performance in the CBSE class 10 exam. Resident of Adityapur, Jasmine got the privilege to be the city topper in the CBSE class 10 exam, the result of which was announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Daughter of Apurva Saha, engineer working with Border Roads Organisation (BRO), General Reserve Engineer Force (GREF), Jasmine scored 98.8 % to bag the first place in Jamshedpur.

Jasmine says her mother Meenu Saha is a housewife which is big support for me as father is posted in Arunachal Pradesh.

‘My mother should get the credit for this achievement as we live at LIC quarters in Adityapur with our maternal uncle and family.

I studied of 3-4 hours daily and took coaching at Narayana IIT Academy till 10th but now I have joined Aakash Institute and will continue my plus 2 in the same school’, said a cheerful Jasmine who wants to do medical from AIIMS and become a surgeon.

City topper likes painting which is her hobby and watch tv in the free time when she is not studying.

‘I’m not interested in social networking but I’m active on Whatsapp as it helped us in exchanging notes with friends from the school and the coaching teachers’, said Jasmine, adding, ‘we have 12 friends in the Whatsapp group ‘Eternal Gems’ and all have scored 90% and above marks in the class 10 which shows that if social sites are used within limits can be beneficial’.

Jasmine’s native place is Rajmahal in Sahebganj District and she completed her class 5 from DAV Pakur and she joined DAV Bistupur in class 6.
Jasmine’s brother Shourya Saha is studying in class 3 of DAV Bistupur and is a class topper.

Principal of DAV Bistupur Pragya Singh seemed content with the result saying our students have performed better than expected as the teachers have put in their hard work. “We are really happy with the performance of our students. We have achieved 100 per cent results with 26 students scoring above 95 per cent.

As per our study the school has an impressive average of 84.6 per cent,” said Singh. Talking about the question paper, principal said that all the questions came from the syllabus and the papers were perfectly balanced.
DAV Bistupur also produced joint third city toppers with Seemant Sarkar and T Pratham 98 per cent.
