Mysterious disappearance of suspected Maoist

: A three-member team of CBI is campaign in the steel city in view of probing of the mysterious disappearance of suspected Maoist Dileshwar Mahto.

Sources went on to inform that an official of the team also visited West Midnapore and contacted Maoist’s wife Shephali Mahto at Nalboni village at Jhargram in West Midnapore district.

Additional superintendent of police, CBI, Devendra Kumar who is leading the team also confirmed about the visit to Jamshedpur and West Midnapore in connection with the missing Maoist case.

“Yes are in Jamshedpur in view of the probe of missing Dileshwar Mahto case. One of the members of the visiting team had visited to West Midnapore,” said Kumar. He refused to divulge more details on the matter.

The Supreme Court had on October 22 given the CBI six week time to submit a report on whether Dileshwar Mahto was alive or dead. Following the apex court directive, a three-member team led by SP, CBI, Naresh Kumar Sharma had visited Jamshedpur on December 1.

The 44-year-old Dileshwar Mahto had allegedly been brought by a two-member police team from Goa and had been interrogated in connection with the Insas rifle case.

The CBI was looking for the signature of Dileshwar Mahto as the latter had signed in a personal bond in English before he was reportedly released from the Sonari police station on June 26, 2010.
