Jamshedpur: Three miscreants looted cash worth Rs 3 lakh from a Bharat Petroleum fuel outlet, Maa Jyotsana Automobile, at Adardih under Nimdih police station area on Tuesday. The incident took place barely 500 metres away from Nimdih police station.
Cops arrested one of the accused with the help of villagers and confiscated a motorcycle used by them in the crime.
Sources said the incident took place around 1 pm when three persons arrived at the outlet under pretext of purchasing fuel.
Soon the three entered the office of the outlet manager and looted cash from the possession of the staff on duty. The three ran out with the cash while the outlet staff raised an alarm. Local police was tipped off about the incident.
Soon a police team led by the officer in-charge of Nimdih police station TP Kushwaha searched around the area and nabbed one of the accused. The other two accused succeeded in escaping the scene.
The SP of Seraikela Madan Mohan Lal reached the scene and inquired about the crime. He said the criminals had escaped towards Kadla forest as per information obtained so far.
A police team led by the SDPO of Chandil Vimal Kumar carried out raids in Kadla forest. The officers in-charge of Chandil, Ichagarh and Nimdih police station conducted the search till late evening.
