Cash, documents stolen from BJP activist Appa Rao’s office in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Nov 7: Panic spread in the Golmuri area on Thursday night after a theft was reported at the office of BJP activist and Sanjay Sadbhavna Market president Appa Rao, located in Tinplate under Golmuri police station area.

Unknown miscreants allegedly broke the office lock and fled with Rs 20,000–30,000 in cash along with several important documents.

According to information, Appa Rao had closed his office late Thursday night and stayed there for a while before heading home.

The stolen cash was reportedly kept inside a drawer of the office table.

On Friday morning, locals noticed the broken lock and immediately informed Appa Rao. When he reached the spot, he found the office ransacked.

Golmuri police arrived soon after receiving the information and began an investigation.

Appa Rao has filed a written complaint with the police station.

The station in-charge assured that the case would be thoroughly investigated and the culprits arrested at the earliest.

Residents expressed concern that the office is located close to the police station, yet the theft took place without detection.

It is being said that the absence of CCTV cameras in the office premises may have enabled the thieves to carry out the crime.

Police are now scanning CCTV footage from nearby areas to trace the suspects.
