Carmel Summit ’24 kicks off with Vibrant Opening Ceremony and Diverse School Competitions

Jamshedpur, August 9: Carmel Summit ’24, a major two-day inter-school event kicked-off with an inaugural procession led by the Manager and Principal of Carmel Junior College, accompanied by Teacher Moderators and representatives from participating schools.

The ceremonial lamp was lit by key figures including School Manager Sister Jyothi D’Souza, Principal Sister Sharel, Teacher Moderator Mousumi Mukherjee, Head Girl Anoushka Sarkar, and Head Boy Rushil Zatakia.

In keeping with 2024 being the International Year of Camelids, the significance of Desert festivals was highlighted through a captivating dance performance by Carmel students. The participating teams, named after famous deserts from around the world, showcased their skills in various contests designed to enhance talents across different domains.

The extensive range of contests at Carmel Summit ’24 is managed by several school clubs. The Computer Club is overseeing FIFA, the Electoral Literacy Club is organizing JURIS DECORUS QUR, and the G.K. Club is responsible for TIMELESS TRIUMP. The Interact Club is handling FUSIONOID, while the Interreligious Club and Jyoti Unit are coordinating RENDEZVOUS. The Legal Literacy Club is in charge of SPOTLIGHT, and the Literary Club is managing THE YOUTH PARLIAMENT and JURIS DECORUS. The Mercantile Club is running NUANCE, the Scientifica Club is overseeing MAVERICK and BOOM NOVATRIC, and the Scouts and Guides Club is managing EXPLORATION.

The event sees participation from over 500 students across 13 schools, including D.B.M.S. English School, D.B.M.S. Kadma High School, Gulmohur High School, Hill Top School, J.H. Tarapore, K.P.S. Burramines, Little Flower School, Loyola School, Narbheram Hansraj English School, Rajendra Vidyalaya, R.V.S Academy, Mango, Sacred Heart Convent School, and St. Mary’s English High School. The various contests are judged by esteemed local professionals.

The summit will conclude with a Closing Ceremony at 5:30 p.m. on August 10, 2024, followed by the Prize Distribution Ceremony.
