Carmel Junior wins Frank Anthony Debate at SKPS

Jamshedpur, July 19: Sri Krishna Public School (SKPS) hosted Frank Anthony Memorial All-India Inter School Debate Competition.

The event saw participation of 10 teams from city and other parts of Jharkhand and Bihar. Topic for the debate was-‘Competition leads to the death of relationship’.

After rounds of intense battle Shranya Jha of St. Xavier’s Bokaro was adjudged the best speaker while Sourabh Sharma of Carmel Junior College was the runner-up while Shaswat Slok of DBMS Kadma was the second runner-up.

Sourabh Sharma and Smriti Prakash of Carmel Junior College Sonari bagged the best team award.

Chief Guest for the event Pro Vice Chancellor of Kolhan Univeristy Dr. Shukla Mohanty distributed the prizes. On the occasion she said that winning and losing is a part of the competition and the losing team should not bog down.

Participating in a competition is the main thing and losers will win the next day, Mohanty added. Judges of the competition were former Principal of the School George Velpani, Professor of SP Inter College HP Shukl, Dkeya Majumdar of Women’s College and Secretary of the School Haribalabh Singh Arsi.

Also present at the event were Vice-Principal of the School Poonam Singh, Madhumita Sarkar and others. It may be noted that the competition is organized every year in honour of Mr. Frank Anthony, a pioneer in the field of education. It is among the most prestigious inter-school competition organized by the ICSE board.
