Carmel Junior wins ASISC Zonal Senior boys football tourney

Jamshedpur, Aug. 12: Carmel Junior College has been crowned the winners of ASISC Zonal Senior Boys Football Tournament 2017.

The boys from Carmel scored 4 goals as compared to 3 by KPS Kadma in the final match of the tournament played at Carmel Bal Vihar Ground, Sonari on Friday. The match was decided by penalty shootout.

The tournament organized by Carmel Junior College was held from 8 to 11 August

Earlier in the quarter final of the tournament Carmel Junior defeated RVS Academy by 2 goals to 0 where Vir Bugli and Snehal scored a goal each. In the semi final Carmel beat Gulmohar School 1-0.

Best Player in the Senior Boys was Subarno Lahri while Best Player in the Junior Boys was S. Yashwant.

The closing ceremony of the ASISC Zonal Junior & Senior Football 2017 was held on Friday where prizes were distributed among the winners.
Junior Boys teams were also felicitated at the function. Runner Up award went to Church School while Carmel Junior College bagged the winners trophy.

Chief Guest for the function was Anoop T Mathew, SSP, East Singhbum. Guest Of Honour were Surendra Kumar Singh, HOR, Jharkhand Football Association, Naveen Sundi, International Referee, FIFA and Md. Shafique, Head Coach, Tata Steel. Principal M. Lini A.C. and Vice Principal M. Devashree A.C. of Carmel Junior College were present during the closing ceremony.

The Principal gave the vote of thanks and thanked the referees for their selfless hard work, the programme ended with the National Anthem.
