Jamshedpur, August 18: Ayanshi Rai, a class 6 student from Carmel Junior College, Sonari, clinched the gold medal in the 600-meter sub-junior category at the Zonal Athletics competition held on Sunday. Ayanshi, who dedicated an hour daily to practice on the school ground from 7:15 to 8:15, credited her success to her coaches Neeraj Sir, Shammi Teacher, Pradeep Sir, her parents Mrs. Parul Rai and Mr. Ashutosh Rai, and her friends. Despite maintaining a normal diet, Ayanshi’s commitment to her practice was unwavering. Apart from athletics, she enjoys literature, having read “The Girl Who Drank the Moon” and several books by Sudha Murthy and Ruskin Bond. Additionally, Ayanshi has also excelled in fashion, winning a gold medal for her performance in a makeover competition at Loyola School. She aspires to join the Defense Services in the future.
