Thrilling Culmination of the Record-Breaking JOGGA Inter-School Chess Tournament 2025 at Kavyapta Global School
Jamshedpur, Aug 30: Carmel Junior College, Kavyapta Global School, and Sacred Heart Convent School emerged as champions in different team categories at the JOGGA Inter-School Chess Tournament 2025, which concluded at Kavyapta Global School after two days of keen competition. The tournament created history with a record 284 participants, the highest ever in a JOGGA chess event.
The closing ceremony was graced by N.K. Tiwary, Secretary General of the East Singhbhum District Chess Association, and Firoze Khan, Vice President of JOGGA, who presented trophies to winners and runners-up in various categories.
In individual events, Arijt Ghosh of KPS Kadma topped the Junior Boys category, followed by Trishanou Mukherjee of KPS Kadma and Kushal Pranshu of DAV Public School, Bistupur. In the Senior Boys category, Debanjan Sinha of Carmel Junior College secured first place, with Bhavesh Saran of DAV Public School, Bistupur, and Absaar Ahmad Shuja of Kavyapta Global School finishing second and third.
Among the girls, Naira Aditya of Sacred Heart Convent School won the Junior Girls title, followed by Navieka Jaiswal of Kavyapta Global School and Monali Biswas of KPS Kadma. In Senior Girls, Advika Mohanty of Carmel Junior College bagged first place, with Vaishnavi Sinha of DAV Public School, Bistupur, and Srijita Tripathy of Central Public School finishing next.
In the team events, Sacred Heart Convent School won the Junior Girls title, Carmel Junior College bagged both the Senior Girls and Junior Boys trophies, while Kavyapta Global School clinched the Senior Boys title.
Tournament arbiters, led by Technical Director Chandan Prasad and Chief Arbiter Jayant Bhuiya, were felicitated by the school management led by Principal Director Kabita Agrawal. In her remarks, Agrawal said the event not only crowned champions but also inspired students to embrace patience, foresight, and resilience.
