Jamshedpur: Ghazal Singer Pankaj Udhas is back in the Steel City after two years to perform on public demand.
Talking to the scribes on the eve of the show scheduled for Saturday at Tata Auditorium, XLRI, the veteran singer said I always love coming back to Jamshedpur and the amount of affection I got from the people here is immense. Two years back I was in the city and show went on smoothly, this time also I hope to make people fall in love with songs. Pankaj�s first ever show in Jamshedpur was held at United Club.
�We can�t experiment much with ghazals as the scope is limited compared to other genres of singing, In the era of Mirza Galib the use of Urdu was more prominent but in the current generation there is more focus on hindi but Ghazal singing is becoming famed�, added the Padma Shri awarded, adding, �Sufi songs bhi ghazal ka hi ek doosra roop hai. But if you’ll look at the popularity, old ghazals are still liked by people.�
Music is always present around us as in the era of technology and social media more than half of the people active on facebook and twitter are writing poems and poetries and sharingf it on the socail network.
Ghazal is becoming more popular and we host annual ghazal program were sevreal male and female participants show their skills and in future would be renowned names in the industry. Talking about late Jagjeet Singh, Pankaj Udhas said his place is empty and will always remain. Today�s artist lack creative approach when comparing it with Khayam Sahab and Madan Mohan.
Answering the media persons, Pankaj said I am not so much in touch with the film Industry but im working on a new album which has already been recorded and will be out in first week of October 2014.
