In a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Monday, the Jharkhand cabinet approved several key proposals aimed at boosting irrigation, infrastructure, welfare, and administrative efficiency across the state.
Key Decisions
* Rs 236.20 crore for the Cambo Mega Lift Irrigation Project — Administrative approval was granted for the project to supply irrigation through underground pipelines in parts of Mandar and Chanho blocks of Ranchi district.
* Rs 7.84 crore for the Ghatsila (ST) Assembly by-election — The amount will be drawn as an advance from the Jharkhand contingency fund for smooth conduct of the by-election.
* Extension of helicopter service for VIP/VVIP movement — The existing 2+5 seater twin-engine Bell-429 helicopter service will continue for another six months under the same terms and conditions.
* Formation of Jharkhand State Allied and Healthcare Council Rules, 2025 — The cabinet approved the establishment of a regulatory framework for allied and healthcare professionals.
* Recognition for international hockey players — Land allotted to Olympians Salima Tete and Nikki Pradhan by the Jharkhand State Housing Board will be exempted from stamp duty and registration charges.
* Major road infrastructure push in Dumka district — Rs 44.93 crore approved for widening and strengthening of the Barmasia PWD Road to Shaharghati Road (8.13 km).
Rs 35.81 crore sanctioned for the Karmatand to Bhogtandih Road (7.77 km) project, including bridge construction and land acquisition.
* Pay scale revision for welfare supervisors — The cabinet approved revision of Grade Pay from Rs 1,900 to Rs 2,400 for Gram Gola Chowkidars promoted as Block Welfare Supervisors, as per the High Court’s directives.
* Approval of Jharkhand Multi-Purpose Staff (Recruitment and Service Conditions) Rules, 2025.
* Pension revision for retired and deceased government teachers — The decision applies to teaching staff of government engineering colleges and polytechnics who retired or passed away before January 1, 2016.
Notably, these measures underscore the government’s continued emphasis on rural development, welfare enhancement, and administrative reforms to ensure inclusive growth across Jharkhand.
