Burglary at two houses in Jamshedpur, jewellery,cash stolen 

Jamshedpur, November 20: There was theft in two houses on Sunday evening.

On Monday also, thieves broke the locks of two Mango houses and stole them. The first incident took place in the house of Uday Singh, resident of Mahavir Colony under Ulidih police station. Uday Singh along with his family locked the house and went to Dimna to perform Chhath Puja.

When he returned after offering morning prayers at Dimna Lake, the main door of the house was open. The thieves entered inside by breaking the lock, broke both the almirahs kept in the house as well as the box bed and ran away with the cash and all the jewellery.

 Uday told that due to the crowd at Chhath Ghat, the women had kept all the jewelery at home. Younger brother’s engagement is going to happen at home after two days. Even before Chhath Puja, jewelery was bought for the new daughter-in-law and kept in the house for the engagement. Uday told that gold jewelery worth about Rs 10 lakhs and about Rs 60 thousand cash kept in the house along with jewelery worth lakhs had been stolen.

According to Uday, thieves also attempted theft at the house of his neighbor Upendra Sharma, but during this time people started returning to their homes, due to which the thieves could not carry out the incident. A month before this also an incident of theft had taken place, which the police has not yet disclosed.
