Burglars strike vacant Jamshedpur house, cash and valuables stolen

Jamshedpur, June 17: A burglary was reported from Bagbera Colony Panchayat area after unidentified thieves allegedly broke into a locked house and decamped with cash, jewellery, mobile phones and other valuables.
The incident took place at a residence near Ganesh Puja Maidan on Road No. 3 in Bagbera. According to a complaint lodged with Bagbera police station by M. Padmavati, the burglars gained entry by breaking open the rear door of the house while it remained unoccupied.
Padmavati stated that she had been admitted to Sadar Hospital in Khasmahal for medical treatment on June 10. When she returned home on the night of June 15 after being discharged from the hospital, she was shocked to find the rear door damaged and the house ransacked. The locker of an almirah had been forced open, with belongings strewn across the floor.
The thieves reportedly fled with Rs 40,000 in cash, a Samsung mobile phone, gold ornaments including a nose ring and earrings, around 30 to 35 expensive sarees, and brass and steel utensils.
On receiving information about the theft, local Panchayat representatives, including Sunil Gupta, Santosh Thakur and Mudita Singh, visited the victim’s residence and expressed solidarity with the family. A police team from Bagbera police station also inspected the spot and began collecting evidence as part of the investigation.
Expressing concern over a series of theft reported from the locality, Panchayat Samiti member Sunil Gupta urged the police administration to intensify night patrolling in Bagbera Colony and take swift action against those involved. He warned that residents may be compelled to launch an agitation if effective measures are not taken to curb the rising incidents of burglary in the area.
