Jamshedpur, Feb. 23: Burglars decamped with gold jewelries, valuables and cash worth about Rs 2.75 lakh from two separate places at Kadma in the wee hours of Tuesday.
The burglars decamped with gold jewelries and cash, beside other valuables worth over Rs 2.5 lakh from the residence of one Sukhdev Jyotishi, a resident of Padma Road in Kadma. In another incident, the burglars took decamped with television sets and music systems worth about Rs 25,000 from the flat of Surjeet Kumar in the ECC flat area under the same police station.
Police suspect that the burglars used intoxicating spray while committing the theft at the residence of Jyotishi, who is a Tata Steel employee and posted at the Tata Main Hospital radiology department as a technician.
A police official informed that the thieves managed to pick up the key of back verandah grill lock from the ventilator and had subsequently entered the two-room house by unlocking the locks. Having collected the cash and gold jewelries, they fled without any commotion.
In another incident, the criminals decamped with music system, LED TV and smart phone from the flat of Surjeet Kumar, who is also a Tata Steel employee.
Kumar (21) said the criminals entered the house by breaking open the locks of the back verandah grill.
A team of police officials led by Kadma police officer in-charge Shankar Thakur visited both the places for inspection.
“We are investigating the incident and it appears that separate gangs of criminals have committed these crimes. We have begun the investigation and hope the culprits will be nabbed soon,” said Thakur.
