Bullu Rani Singh elected Zila Parishad chairperson

Jamshedpur, Jan. 19: Election for Jamshedpur Zila Parishad chairperson and vice chairman was held at deputy commissioner�s premises on Tuesday.

Bullu Rani Singh defeated her nearest rival by 4 votes and was elected the Zila Parishad chairman while Rajkumar Singh who was re-elected Parshad defeated his rival by 17 votes and was elected Zila Parishad vice chairman.

The election held under the supervision of DC Dr. Amitabh Kaushal and senior administrative officials where every 27 Parshad were present and not a single vote was considered illegal.

Panchayat election is not held on party basis but directly or indirectly all Parshads are connected with a political party. Rajkumar Singh is directly associated with BJP while Bullu Rani Singh is indirectly associated with BJP.

It can be said that both the posts have been captured by the BJP supporters. From the start of the election till the results were announced several BJP workers and activists were present.

After the results were announced the party workers were seen in celebratory mode and they garlanded the winners after they came out with the certificates.

In the first shift, election for chairman post was held were three candidates Bullu Rani Singh, Baghrai Mardi and Hiramani Murmu were in the battle.

All the members voted after which DC Dr. Amitabh Kaushal announced Bullu Rani Singh as winner. Bullu rani got total of 14 votes, Baghrai got 10 votes while Hiramani got only 3 votes.

For the vice chairman post Rajkumar Singh and Bodam winner Swapan Kumar had a fight a battle. Rajkumar got votes of 22 Parshad while Swapan got only 5 votes. DC announced Rajkumar as the winner.
