Jamshedpur: In a shocking incident, dead bodies of youth and a girl with bullet injuries were recovered near a green park adjacent to the Tata Pigments Limited gate in Jugsalai early on Wednesday morning.
The body was noticed by morning walkers at around 5.30 am. They found a pistol in the right hand of the girl. While the youth had sustained bullet injury on his right temple the girl had injury on left temple.
The body was later identified as Bagbera Lal Building resident, Saroj Kumar Upadhyay (20) a B A part II student of Jamshedpur Cooperative College and the girl was identified as Simran Kumari (17) a tenth grader at Sakchi-based Dayanand Public School and a resident of River View Colony near Baroda Ghat also in Bagbera.
�As per our initial probe it appears to be a case of suicide as the parents of the girl have recovered a note written �Sorry mujhe maaf kar dijiye� (sorry forgive me), however, we are also probing at other angle.
We have seized the mobile of the youth from the spot to study call details record. We will also check the footages of CCTV installed near the Tata Pigment Limited gate to find out the exact nature of the crime. We have recovered three empty cartridges from the spot� said Jugsalai thana OC, Nityanand Mahato.
Both the girl and the youth father however refused to accept the suicide theory. �I am in state of shock. I cannot believe that my son would commit suicide. He was very bold We had dinner together last night and there was nothing unusual in his behavior.
As is his schedule he left house at around 3.30 am for morning walk but never returned. I got doubts after 6 am and informed my son who enquired with other youths who informed about recovery of a body and later it was identified as my son. There was no mental tension, he will never end his like this?� said Dipender Kumar Upadhyay, who owns a borewell unit.
The girl�s parent also were surprised at the suicide angle. �She was very happy with her life. There was no reason for her to end her life.
We had dinner and all of us went to sleep. I didn�t even know when she went out of the house. I want the police to investigate thoroughly,� said a relative.
