Bulldozer action on encroachments in Jamshedpur from May 30

Jamshedpur, May 29: A special anti-encroachment drive will commence in Jamshedpur on Friday, May 30, targeting illegal constructions on government and leased lands. Under the direction of Dhalbhum Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Shatabdi Majumdar, magistrates and police forces have been deployed to support the operation.

In the first phase of the campaign, ten illegally constructed houses, shops, and other permanent structures will be demolished across various areas including Parsudih, Sonari, Kadma, Kalimati, Pudihasa, Manifit, and several other municipal wards. The demolitions follow hearings of JPLE (Jharkhand Public Land Encroachment) cases and subsequent orders issued by zonal officers.

The campaign will be conducted in a phased manner. The second phase will target illegal encroachments in Patamda, Bodam, and Potka regions, as well as the Mango zone. Reports have been requested from the respective Circle Officers (COs) to facilitate this process.

List of areas and encroachers include Parsudih (Govindpur Police Station) – Dubraj Mahato; Sonari (Ward No. 1) – Siddharth Rao; Pudihasa (Jamshedpur Zone) – Ashok Kumar; Manifit (Jamshedpur Zone) – Satish Singh; Kalimati (Jamshedpur Zone) – Rameshwar Prasad; Kadma (Ward No. 2) – Nepal Maksi; Ward No. 11 – Kishto Maksi, Prahlad Chaudhary; Ward No. 9 – Collector Rao; Wards No. 6 & 7 – One encroached location in each.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Bhagirath Prasad confirmed that permanent structures will be removed based on JPLE case verdicts, while temporary encroachments will be addressed by the Tata Steel Land Department.

The administration aims to reclaim public land and ensure proper land usage through this systematic demolition drive. (w/gsd)
