Jamshedpur, April 16: In a bizarre incident, a stray bull created panic and chaos in New Gwala Basti, Sonari in Jamshedpur after it entered a house and climbed all the way up to the third floor on Wednesday. The bull remained inside the house for nearly four hours, during which it moved around the bedroom, causing damage and panic among residents.
According to locals, the incident began when three bulls were seen fighting on the road in the residential area. In the heat of the moment, one of the bulls entered the home of Manoj Yadav, whose door was open at the time. When people attempted to chase it out, the bull rushed inside, climbed the stairs, and reached the third-floor bedroom, where it continued to cause havoc by moving furniture and other items.
As the word spread, hundreds of people from the locality gathered outside and inside the house to witness the unusual event. Several residents tried to bring the bull down by tying a rope around its neck, but their efforts were unsuccessful.
Eventually, members of the Bajrang Dal were called to help with the rescue. With the assistance of a crane and around 10-12 volunteers, the bull was carefully tied with ropes and slowly lowered from the rooftop. The dramatic rescue operation was captured on video by several onlookers, and the footage has since gone viral on social media.
This is not the first time a stray bull has caused fear in the city. In January, a man named Mahfooz from Potka Haldipokhar was seriously injured in a bull attack near the MGM roundabout in Sakchi. In March 2023, two people—Ashok Agarwal and Raj Kishore Singh—were killed after being trampled by a bull near Sheetla Mandir, Sakchi. It had taken a massive effort from the police and administration to subdue the animal.
Residents have expressed concern over the increasing menace of stray bulls in Jamshedpur and have urged the administration to take urgent action.
