Jamshedpur, Feb 2: The Union budget has been hailed as a clear sign of the Modi government’s dedication to the common man, with tax relief for students, workers, farmers, and middle-class individuals, including tax exemptions for incomes up to Rs 12 lakhs. Varun Kumar, Founder of the All India Ex-Servicemen Service Council in Jamshedpur, praised the government’s courage in bringing forward such reforms, emphasizing “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.”
The defence budget has seen a slight increase, with a significant 14% rise in pension expenditure. A total of Rs. 6.81 lakh crore has been allocated to defence, marking a 9% increase over the previous year’s estimated budget, and 6% more than the revised budget. Capital expenditure, focusing on modernizing military equipment, is set at Rs. 180,000 crore, reflecting a 4.65% rise. Kumar considers this as a strong step towards strengthening both the nation’s security and its future.
