Jamshedpur, May 29: The capacity crowd at The Bengal Club Auditorium was left spellbound and enchanted by the recitation of Rabindranath and rebel poet Kazi Nazrul Islam’s poems by Bratati Bandyopadhyay and singer Manmay Bhattacharya’s sonorous presentations featured in a programme entitled, ‘Kobi Pronam,’ as the second part of a yearlong cultural celebration calendar on The Bengal Club’s centenary year. ‘Kobi Pronam’ was organized at The Bengal Club Auditorium in tribute to Kobi Guru Rabindranath Tagore and rebel poet Kazi Nazrul Islam.
Popular singer Manmay Bhattacharya is not a new name on the cultural horizon as he has been regaling elite as well as other music lovers with his sonorous voice. In addition, he is one of the panel of distinguished judges on Zee TV Bangla’s popular programme, ‘Sa-Re-Ga-Ma-Pa.’
The evening’s ‘Kobi Pronam’ programme at the vast Bengal Club Auditorium left the audience mesmerized with Bratati Bandyopadhyay’s powerful depiction of poetic moods through her emphatic recitations from World Poet Rabindranath’s serene and romantic compositions and firebrand Kazi Nazrul’s works with underlying rebellious creations. The Jugal Bandi or duet by the two artistes was the icing in the cake offered to the highly appreciative and capacity audience.
Earlier, the second chapter of The Bengal Club’s centenary year celebrations was inaugurated by Tata Steel’s Chief Procurement Officer, Amitabh Bakshi. The artistes along with guests were felicitated by The Bengal Club President Tapas Mitra and General Secretary Debasish Naha.
