Jamshedpur: Learning lessons from the incident of lynching of a woman in Sahebganj under suspicion of being a �braid chopper�, Jadugora police have begun measures to nip the new menace in the bud.
The officer in-charge of Jadugora PS Priyanka Anand has convened a meeting of all Mukhiyas and panchayat representatives of Jadugora on 21st August.
The meeting will be held on the police station premises on 4 pm.
�In Sahebganj, an innocent woman was killed after people suspected him of having cut the braid of some woman. The rumour spread like wildfire and resulted in mob violence.
Learning from this incident, we have decided to hold a meeting with local residents and seek their help and participation in spreading awareness among the people to prevent repetition of any such incident in our area,� said Anand.
Tomorrow�s meeting will also be attended by the block development officer (BDO) of Mosabani Santosh Gupta. Before this meeting, the same topic will be discussed with public representatives at the Twenty Point Committee meeting at Mosabani block headquarters, sources said.
